About Me:
Welcome to my cybersecurity portfolio! I'm a dedicated and analytical cybersecurity enthusiast with a strong foundation in psychology and a growing expertise in information security, risk management, and ethical hacking. My journey into cybersecurity is shaped by a deep interest in problem-solving, securing digital infrastructures, and understanding the human factors that influence security.
*I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, which has provided me with a unique perspective on cybersecurity—particularly in areas like social engineering, behavioral analysis in security incidents, and the psychological impact of cyber threats. I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at Western Governors University, where I’m actively expanding my technical skills in networking, system administration, cryptography, and security operations. Additionally, I’m working toward industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, ISC2 SSCP, and CISSP, with plans to further specialize in cloud security and threat intelligence.
My Technical Journey:
My experience in technology started with web development, where I built and managed WordPress websites and developed front-end projects using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. Through this, I developed a strong appreciation for the importance of secure coding practices, access control, and data protection. As I explored cybersecurity, I quickly became fascinated by threat detection, network defense, and the role of human behavior in security breaches.
Currently, I’m building my expertise in:
- Network Security & Defense – Configuring and securing networks, understanding firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and VPNs to protect sensitive data.
- Penetration Testing & Ethical Hacking – Learning to identify vulnerabilities through ethical hacking techniques and exploit mitigation strategies.
- Digital Forensics & Incident Response – Investigating security breaches, analyzing attack patterns, and strengthening systems against future threats.
- Cloud Security & Identity Management – Exploring best practices for securing cloud environments and implementing role-based access controls (RBAC).
- SQL & Database Security – Understanding how to protect data integrity, prevent SQL injection attacks, and manage database permissions securely.
What Sets Me Apart:
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to bridge the gap between human psychology and cybersecurity. With my background in psychology and counseling, I have a deep understanding of social engineering tactics, insider threats, and how human behavior influences cybersecurity risks. This knowledge allows me to think critically about security challenges, predict potential attack vectors, and design effective security awareness training programs.
Additionally, my resilience and ability to adapt to challenges have been key to my growth. I have a track record of learning complex topics independently, applying theoretical knowledge in practical settings, and continuously pushing myself to improve. Whether it’s debugging a piece of code, troubleshooting network issues, or researching advanced security topics, I am committed to mastering the skills needed to protect digital assets and combat cyber threats.
My Cybersecurity Goals:
As I continue my journey in cybersecurity, my goal is to gain hands-on experience in security operations, penetration testing, and risk assessment. I am particularly interested in:
- Threat Hunting & Malware Analysis – Understanding advanced persistent threats (APTs) and how to proactively defend against cyber adversaries.
- Cloud & DevSecOps – Implementing security best practices in cloud environments and integrating security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Security Awareness & Social Engineering Prevention – Designing training programs that educate users on security best practices and reduce the risk of human error.
- Incident Response & Disaster Recovery – Strengthening organizations’ ability to respond to cyber incidents and maintain business continuity.
A Commitment to Continuous Learning:
Cybersecurity is an ever-evolving field, and I am committed to lifelong learning to stay ahead of emerging threats. I actively engage with cybersecurity communities, participate in Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges, and experiment with security tools in lab environments to refine my skills. I believe that the best security professionals are those who never stop learning, adapting, and improving.
If you’re interested in collaborating, discussing security topics, or sharing insights, feel free to connect with me. I’m always eager to learn from others and contribute to the broader cybersecurity community.
